Christmas, a little early

We usually celebrate Christmas with Matt's family on Christmas Eve. This year, however, my nephew William was being ordained a deacon on the 18th of December.  Everyone in the family was getting together to be there for that, and with some other things going on, we decided to celebrate Christmas on that day instead of waiting.  The kids were not too sad about having to open presents a week early!
After attending church, we all gathered back at Shanna's house and had a nice dinner.  Having tortured the kids as long as we could by waiting (and fearing that Alex wouldn't be able to last 5 more minutes without opening his presents--with or without approval) we decided to start opening presents.

Alex helped Grandpa open his gift.
There was a mix-up and Aaron got two presents in the cousin exchange...luckily Ammon (who didn't get one) was the same size and we secretly passed the clothes that Aaron got to Ammon (a few days later we saw Ammon again and he happened to be wearing the shirt and Aaron told him that he had a shirt just like it! oops!)
We had a great time with everyone--the kids always have so much fun together (Alex and Carter idolize William and Caroline has her favorite aunts--Alyssa and Lexie), it was hard to leave, but our kids, unfortunately, had school the next day.  I'm sure I owe their teachers an apology for their crankiness at school on Monday!
