Disney Vacation: Magic Kingdom (Day 1)

Our first day at Magic Kingdom was another fabulous day! We left a little later than planned (Caroline was still running a fever and needed more sleep--though the fever was lower than yesterday).
Here we are at the bus stop by our cabin.  If you look behind us the cabin that is in the background is right next door to the one we stayed in--it was so nice being really close to the bus!

We took the bus to the Marina then took a boat to the Contemporary Resort then walked to the entrance at Magic Kingdom.  Caroline, Carter, Alex and I waited close to the entrance so we could get to the rides first, Matt took Aaron towards the center of the waiting area so he could see the train come in and Mickey Mouse on the train.
I love this picture!
Everything was a walk on again today. We rode Buzz Lightyear (our family favorite) about 8 times before we decided to move on to something else.
We saw Chip (brown nose) and Dale (black nose) all alone so we stopped to get a picture.

The kids all wanted to drive the cars--especially Alex since he was old enough to drive now (with an adult in the car).  Caroline and Carter were old enough to drive without an adult so it worked out great.

Shortly into the ride Matt and I remembered why we dislike this ride--Carter ended up having an attendant ride with him because he was having a hard time keeping a constant speed (any speed) and Alex was not, shall we say, smooth with the gas pedal.  Caroline did fine and was way a head of all of us.  Luckily, the kids agreed that it wasn't the best ride ever and didn't ask to go again!
The teacups were fun, though a few of the kids opted to stand in line for Alice rather than ride a second time
We visited a lot of characters
all the kids wanted their books signed,
but when it came time for pictures we could usually only get a couple to stay in the picture--Alex was very rarely one of those--he always has hated having pictures with the characters!

Aaron was in heaven meeting Mickey and Minnie Mouse!

A few characters were popular enough to get all the kids for a picture!
Love this picture of Caroline on the Aladdin ride.
Aaron's two favorite rides were the train and the people mover.  He got to ride them a lot--any time the taller kids wanted to go on a ride he couldn't go on, we took him (and anyone else that wanted to skip out) on one of those rides.

We left at 4 and just as we left the clouds started coming in--when the bus dropped us off at our bus stop it was pouring so we got a little wet getting into the cabin, but it didn't hurt our day at all!
