We started out walking to a restaurant for lunch--the kids found this brick boat and wanted to play in it for a while. There were also brick couches and various other furniture along the main block of downtown Chattanooga.
You can't visit Chattanooga without spending at least a little time playing in the fountains outside the aquarium. We have spent half a day playing in their extensive fountains before, but today we didn't plan on swimming so we just visited a few in the very front.
I think I have seen this picture of Carter before
Aaron can't jump quite as high as the other kids.
After lunch we walked back to the Children's museum and spent most of the afternoon there.
The kids love the dinosaur area where they can excavate dinosaur bones.
I love the paleontologist outfits they have for the kids!
Alex showed me the bones he discovered! He was really proud of them and I think he thought he was the first to find them.
I also love the dinosaur costumes--this is the first time I have been able to convince one of the kids to wear one.
Carter loved this area--it was full of life-size Lincoln Logs.
The traveling exhibit was a Bob The Builder exhibit--Aaron and Alex loved all of the activities they had.
We spent hours here and I didn't take pictures of even a 1/4 of what we did--the museum really is amazing.
I think the all time favorite exhibit at the museum is the bubble maker they have outside the doors. The blue at the bottom is bubble solution and you can stand on the red circle and pull the rope to make a bubble. We stay here as long as we can (there is usually a crowd of people wanting to try). I think this one ended up going to the top of Caroline's head before popping.
After leaving the museum we headed home. Chattanooga is about 2 hours from our house and we always have a great time there. It was fun to have one last summer fling before school started. When I asked the kids what they liked the best it was a tie between Ruby Falls, the Children's museum and the hotel swimming pool/hot tub.

Sounds like a fun family trip. I have wanted to go to Ruby Falls and the incline railway --now I'm not so sure about the railway!
